Birth

I gave birth at home, in my bed, with only my partner present at the emergence of our baby.

For all but the last hour of labor, I chose to be alone.

I worked long and hard—in so many ways—to prepare myself, our home, and my partner.

I’m especially proud of my Birth Plan document, created for my partner to refer to during the birth and early postpartum.

My birth went very much according to plan, and I credit this to the fact that I allowed no one to intervene.
