BRINGING BIRTH BACK INTO OUR HANDS

As a birth and postpartum doula, midwifery student, educator, yoga teacher, and writer, I am a keeper of the lost secrets of healthy pregnancy and autonomous birth.
I love to help embodied women prepare for intentional, psychedelic, rite-of-passage pregnancy and birth so that they can enter motherhood completely alive, confident, free, and united with their higher self and their child.
If this sounds like you, I would be honored to be a part of your journey!

THE BIRTH OF BIRTH.DIY
I became a birthworker because I was fascinated with and absolutely terrified of birth.
I knew I wanted to have children, but I didn’t know how I was supposed to survive making them.
“Being a doula” turned out to be much more complicated than I imagined. It turned out that birth centers aren’t the optimal place for most people to give birth, for instance.
It also turned out that my job as a doula wasn’t just to witness, encourage, comfort, and coach new parents through the birth process—it was also to understand the history of obstetrics and midwifery, the business models of hospitals and insurance, and the physical, mental, and emotional physiology of birth itself.

On top of that, after connecting so deeply with new families after their births, I realized I couldn’t stop there—I had to become a postpartum doula, too. And then I learned that that wasn’t so simple, either—newborn care, like birth, may be straightforward and universal but is also entirely affected by our ideas of what it’s supposed to be like!
Meanwhile, I felt the calling to study midwifery, and I completed Elizabeth Davis’s Beginning and Advanced Heart & Hands Midwifery Intensives. I applied to the midwifery school she founded, but I knew that there were some insurmountable issues with licensed midwifery in this country that I could not align with. Instead, I attended the year-long MatriBirth Mentor Institute through the Free Birth Society, and I received exactly the education I had been longing for.
My hope is that I can bring my story to meet you where you are, and that I can save you some time and work hours (years) by sharing what I’ve learned over my 12+ years of studying human development through childcare, the formation of the mind through education, the body through yoga, and human birth through doula work and midwifery.
